If you’re thinking about bathroom remodeling, renovation, rejuvenation or just simply freshening up your bathroom appearance or making some major changes, you will not only add value to your property but also make your home more comfortable and cozy.

We will help you narrow down your choices from all types of bathtubs, fixtures, and design.  Whatever you are looking for, we will advise you on what’s best suited for your budget and project. You won’t be overwhelmed, you won’t lose precious time, and  most importantly you will be satisfied for many years ahead.

When remodeling a bathroom, here are things to think about: do you want to renew your existing space or do you want to completely remodel (i.e..: change everything, expand, add a shower and/or bathtub).

If you want to change a bathtub there are various types, shapes, colors and sizes to choose from.

Standard bathtub dimensions are usually 5ft in length and 30″ – 32″ in width for wall to wall build tubs, but if the space is allow any types and shapes of whirlpools can be installed. There are different types of bathtub materials – acrylic, fiberglass, porcelain on steel, cultured marble, cast iron, wood, ceramic tile. The most popular are acrylic and fiberglass bathtubs. Wooden and ceramic tile bathtubs are not commonly used or, let say, not that practical.

It is also an option to refurbish fiberglass, porcelain or cast iron tubs, but although there are initial savings, there are also disadvantages to this option compared to replacing your old tub, as refinishing will soon begin to peel and chip.  If you have  limited space in your bathroom you can go with tub/shower combination.

In the case of showers, you can design them on your own and have professionals execute your idea. Any type of shelving or benches can easily be added. There is no limitation in size for walk-in showers. On the other hand, prefabricated showers come in standard sizes. If you decide to install a steam shower do not forget that the steam generator (for producing steam) is supposed to be installed somewhere close to the shower. Shower doors can be framed or frameless. As for shower doors, there are many configurations such as pivot doors, sliding or bypass doors, bi-folds and curved doors.

Light Fixtures

When choosing the electrical fixtures you have to consider the size of your new bathroom first. Adding some recessed lights or fancy vanity lights will bring to your bathroom a completely new look. It is important to remember the bathroom fan. You can buy a fan only and save, or choose a fan with light and bring more light into the bathroom.

Mirrors are another very important part of any bathroom design. There are so many options to choose from. First of all, decide on which size of  mirror would be best in your new bathroom, whether you want frameless or with a frame, which shape and style. Some homeowners like to install huge wall to ceiling special order mirrors in their master bathrooms. Others prefer mirrors no bigger than the vanity. An alternative option to the mirror is a mirrored medicine cabinet which can be surface or in wall mounted. This is a good idea for adding more storage space in the bathroom.

Heated Floor

Heated floors can be added as an option to your bathroom remodeling project.  It can definitely change your early morning mood when you step onto the warm tile floor after your shower. There are three types of heated floor systems – electric, air heated, and hydronic. It is always better to consult with a professional who can help you choose the best for your bathroom.

Toilets usually last for a long period of time. However, sometimes a mechanism for flushing water stops working properly and starts bothering you.  In any case, it is not hard at all to replace a toilet, particularly when doing flooring in the bathroom (tile or hardwood) it will have to be removed and reinstalled afterwards.

Tiling is the most considerable part of a whole bathroom remodeling project. It is possible to install tile pretty much everywhere when it comes to bathrooms – on the floor, walls and ceiling. There are endless possibilities of tile design and patterns to choose from. There are also a variety of types, colors and sizes.

The vanity you choose will depend on the size of your bathroom.  Some vanities come in one piece – cabinet and sink together, but if you want something unconventional, make your own design for the cabinet and choose your countertop, sink and faucet as you like.

Other Things To Consider

Painting is also an important part of bathroom remodeling. It is probably the most inexpensive part of the whole remodeling project, but it will make your bathroom look fresh and nice.  Other inexpensive details to consider are bars for towels and toilet paper.
